Back in the early 90’s I was fortunate enough to study furniture design at ANU (Australian National University) in Canberra, under the late great George Ingham. George was a true Master of furniture design and making. In his youth he had studied at the RCA ( Royal College of Art) in London, working in many countries including Scandanavia and Japan. George learnt much from these cultures, and collaborations with great designers, such as Hans Wegner before settling in Braidwood in the ACT(Australian Capital Territory). In his care I absorbed as much as I could, learning about aesthetics, ergonomics, functionality and much more. His minimalist aesthetic still resonates with me to this day.
